Suge Knight Assaulted During NBA All-Star Weekend
Hip-Hop’s most notorious bully got a taste of his own medicine during All-Star weekend. Reports out of Scottsdale, AZ state that Suge Knight was severely beaten at an event hosted by Akon at the W Hotel. Apparently, tension arose between ‘Kon’s camp and Knight’s, and the Death Row Records co-founder. According to eyewitness accounts, Rovert Carnes Jr. pummeled Knight, leaving him several fractures on his face. Carnes is now facing felony assault charges. ‘Kon’s people have refuted claims that Carnes – a member of the singer’s entourage – is the artist’s business manager.


M.I.A. Gives Birth to a Baby Boy
A lot of folks tuned in to last week’s Grammy show thinking that M.I.A. could drop her baby at any second. The international music star and nominee had a due set for the same night as the show, but was able to attend and perform without any issues. In a statement released on her MySpace page, the proud mother shared her news with friends, family and fans. “My baby was born Wednesday. He is healthy, fine, beautiful, and the most amazing thing ever on this planet,” M.I.A. said. “Me and baby are putting our tour dates for 2010 together and making mixtapes and figuring out a way to break out of the hospital.”


DJ Quik, Snoop and Teddy Riley Create Production Super Group
In what Snoop called a, “Mount Rushmore” of West Coast hip-hop, the legendary MC has joined DJ Quik and Teddy Rile to form QDT or Quik-Dogg-Teddy. According to Quik, these joined forces of the music icons comes at a time when up and coming artists need them the most. The three musicians say their company will offer production, songwriting and general know-how to artists who are being shunned by the majors or can’t afford the tools needed to break in the industry. -g.p.g.
