It’s time for the annual Coachella Valley Music festival and the disputed king of hip-hop, Jay-Z, is one of this year’s headliners. Throwbacks De La Soul, Grace Jones and Sly and the Family Stone (a little risky given recent reports of bizarre behavior) are also scheduled to make appearances.
Jigga Man’s booking stands out like a sore thumb, since the event is known to have more of a grungy, Indie feel, but not when you consider that hip-hop stars like Kanye West and Lupe Fiasco have played Coachella before. He’ll close out the opening night of the fest on Friday, Jan. 16.
Coachella is a three-day annual live music and arts festival held at the Empire Polo Fields in Indio, California, in the Inland Empire’s Coachella Valley. The event has several stages set-up throughout the grounds and features many genres of music, including alternative rock, hip hop, and Electronic music as well as large sculptural art.
This year’s event will run from Apr. 16 – 18 and features over over 100+ local and national acts. For more information, go to www.coachella.com
