Stepping Up to Mentor: Russell Simmons Sits Down With Chris Brown

Russell Simmons sat with Chris Brown Tuesday night, March 22, 2011 during the celebration dinner for the release of his new album, F.A.M.E. and blogged about the experience exclusively for hip pop news website, GlobalGrind.com.

Russell told Brown that he “is suffering from the same thing as almost every young star has gone through, including the Disney kids.” Simmons also feels that he and other artists who have made mistakes should not be “paying the price of the sins in their young lives for the rest of their lives. Again, and again, and again.” And that if we as a society “…insisted on that there would be no art.” Russell suggests that Brown is need of a life coach and his “heart and office door are always open to him.”
