‘Tweetup’ With President Obama; Twitter Opens Platform for Live Q&A Session

OK  so more news, just in, for all you Lupe Fiasco’s, Cornell West’s and Obama haters; instead of going on a twitter rant about how much you hate our president and the way he runs our government, here’s your chance to possibly confront him in the most civil way…hopefully (side eye). Today, President Obama is scheduled to hold his first Twitter Town Hall. CNN reports that today (July 6), Twitter users can pose questions to the president by using the  #askObama hashtag. Users of the social networking service can post questions for Obama before and during the event, which starts at 2 p.m. Washington time.

Promoted as a focus on jobs and the economy, the question- and-answer session already has attracted posts on topics as diverse as small-business incentives and tax rates, women working in math and science, marijuana legalization, and Libya. Obama’s 2012 campaign Twitter account also encouraged followers to submit questions. On a side note, as a few kind words of advice, I must say that for some , this may be only chance to truly ask the president a question or anything for that matter, so choose your questions wisely. The questions will be monitored and the representatives of San Francisco-based Twitter Inc. will determine which questions to pose to the president (hopefully to block all the haters, smh).

Anyway, Twitter co-founder and the executive chairman, will moderate the Twitter Town Hall and If you don’t have a Twitter account (shame on you), you can simply watch as the event will be live-streamed via the White House website or the website askobama.twitter.com. Twitter users can monitor the event by following @townhall. I don’t know about you, but I will be tweeting at least one question. Don’t you just love technology? (smile)
