It’s no secret that 50 Cent has been having troubles with his label, Interscope. He previously complained that the label was mishandling the release and promotion of his as-yet-untitled fifth studio album. But now, after a period of peace between artist and label, things between 50 Cent and Interscope have apparently gone downhill, with 50 recently announcing that he wants to leave Interscope.

50 revealed the news on New Year’s Eve via Twitter, while discussing the difficulty he was having working with his Interscope team.

“My next album is great. It’s [a] shame the hardest people to work with were suppose[d] to be on the same team with me. SK,” tweeted 50. “I’m not doing any press for this album. I worked really hard on it my music speaks for itself. I may put out another mixtape for fun. SK. Music was so much fun for me now the people and politics involved disgust me …”

On Jan. 2, 50 took things a step further, posting a number of emotional tweets regarding his strained relationship with Interscope.

“I have lost all the faith in the team I’m on. I have nothing left to say. I will not be promoting my music,” tweeted 50. “I’m going to deliver this album then. I have a film I wrote to focus on. I’m not upset, I’m just convinced this is not how I want to be remembered.”

There’s still no release date for 50’s upcoming album, but it is expected to hit stores during the first quarter of 2012, with our without 50’s support. 50 isn’t the only artist who’s having label woes.
