Brian McKnight Sings About His Love for Female Genitalia in New Song: Desperate or Creative?

Brian McKnight had a reputation for being a smooth R&B crooner who could woo women with his voice and subtle gestures about love and romance. However, McKnight seems to be venturing into a domain of raunchiness that most of his fans aren’t used to hearing from him.

In a video posted on his Twitter page, McKnight previewed a new song called “If You’re Ready to Learn.” While playing the piano, McKnight sings the chorus, “Let me show you how your p—- works, since you didn’t bring it to me first.”

McKnight also says that the song will be featured on an adult-themed mixtape that he will be releasing soon. But is this just a desperate attempt by McKnight to become relevant again, or is he exploring creative ways to speak on adult themes through music?

After the jump, watch the video and decide for yourself:

  1. Definitely DESPERATE!! Not creative at all. He has such a wonderful voice; but with these lyrics, he is just trying too hard. I was suggest Brian stay at the keyboard from a re-write!

  2. You know, I don’t think so much about if he’s desperate or creative, i just think it’s sad. It’s sad that it took him to release something like this for us to notice him; and for him to feel like this is what he had to do is even worse. This a talent that proved to be good enough on it’s own, yet he feels that he needs a raunchy gimmick just to be noticed.

    GEEE is wonder why….

maybe because everyone’s checking for the person with the gimmick. We cry about how the quality of our stars are deteriorating, yet we still keep checkin’ for the ratchet music.  Artists are out here trying to make gimmick music so people will latch on and radio will buy.

We don’t support the good ones like we really should.
