Beyoncé Credits Breast-Feeding for Post-Baby Weight Loss

While some mothers struggle to get their figures back after giving birth, Beyoncé is slim and trim after having baby Blue Ivy in January. The singer has since revealed the secret to losing the pregnancy pounds; not just the traditional diet and exercise, but breast-feeding. In another excerpt from her “World’s Most Beautiful” woman article for People magazine, the new mommy reveals how she snapped back into shape seemingly overnight.

After dismissing rumors that she had a surrogate mother carry her baby; “That was crazy. It wasn’t hurtful, it was just crazy,” Bey revealed her big breast-feeding secret. “I lost most of my weight from breast-feeding, and I encourage women to do it. It’s just so good for the baby and good for yourself,” she told the publication.

She also went on a diet and ran to slim down. “I counted calories. I worked out maybe three to four times a week,” she said. “I did a lot of walking in the beginning and now I’m running. But I had to work my way up. I couldn’t just go right from being pregnant to running.”

In addition to speaking on her successful weight loss, the new mom divulged more details about the Jan. 7 birth of her daughter. As previously reported, Bey confirmed that she wore heels, albeit kitten heels, until she had her baby. And she got properly pampered before going into labor, indulging in an eyebrow waxing, among other things. “I did have a fresh eyebrow wax. I got my nails done, I got my feet done, had my hair done, and I had my little lip gloss.”
