Bobby Brown Talks Performing After Whitney Houston's Death

Few people were more devastated by Whitney Houston’s death than her famous ex-husband, Bobby Brown. But just hours after her death on Feb. 11, Brown took to the stage in Mississippi to perform with his New Edition bandmates.During a recent interview with Ellen DeGeneres, he explained why he hit the stage after her death.

“I was … performing and I got the call,” said Brown, adding that he tried to leave for L.A., but to no avail. “Of course, I tried to get a flight — tried to rent a jet — whatever I had to do, but it was impossible. So I knew the best thing that she would want me to do was perform.”

Brown continued, ‘You know, we are performers — that’s what we did — that’s what we do and she would want the best for me.”

When asked what he’ll miss most about Houston, Brown replied that, like most people, he’ll miss her golden voice.

“Just to see her sing was amazing,” Bobby, 43, told DeGeneres. “Where she came from with it, was amazing. That’s what I’m going to miss.”
