Bad News: 5 Companies that Will Disappear Next Year

It may be time to trade in that BlackBerry.

From media outlets to makeup, several brands that you know and love will disappear in 2013, according to 24/7 Wall St. and BlackBerry is one of them.


This prediction may fall on deaf ears, however, the annual listing of future failed businesses is pretty accurate, based on a research methodology that includes: “(1) a rapid fall-off in sales and steep losses; (2) disclosures by the parent of the brand that it might go out of business; (3) rapidly rising costs that are extremely unlikely to be recouped through higher prices; (4) companies that are sold; (5) companies that go into bankruptcy; (6) companies that have lost the great majority of their customers; or (7) operations with rapidly withering market share.”

The five businesses listed here have a life-span of 18 months, according to 24/7 Wall St.
