Cita Carter Ties The Knot

After years of being a grandma to the children of a son who continues to sew his wild oats, a New Orleans matriarch is showing off pictures of her recent nuptials. Photos of Cita Carter’s spring wedding were released showing the blushing bride accompanied by her rap mogul son and members of his Cash Money/Young Money family. According to Sister 2 Sister magazine, the only publication present at the ceremony, Jacida “Cita” Carter wed Avery Goff during a lavish April ceremony. On hand for the celebration were her son Lil Wayne, Wayne’s father figure Bryan ‘Birdman Williams’ as well as Mack Maine and Birdman’s brother Ronald “Slim.”

Also on hand were three of the mothers of her grandchildren; singer Nivea, Toya Wright and Sarah Vivian, the mother of Dwayne Michael Carter III. Actress Lauren London, who also has a son with Lil Wayne, was not at the ceremony.

Back in April, Lil Wayne’s ex Toya Wright spoke on the ceremony with V-103 radio host Ryan Cameron and described it as large ceremony with a unique New Orleans twist. Sounding genuinely happy for her ex-mother-in-law she told Cameron that she most enjoyed the ceremony’s “second line”; the group of people that dance with parasols and handkerchiefs while enjoying the music of a traditional brass band.

“It was a big wedding about 350, 400 people,” said Wright. “They had the second line. That second line and everything gave me life,” she continued. “You have your handkerchief and your umbrella and you’re just dancing and partying and having a good time. My husband [Memphitz] and a few other people were like, ‘What are they doing?'”

More details on Cita Carter’s wedding will be released in this month’s issue of the publication. Check out photos of Lil Wayne’s mom getting hitched below. -danielle canada
