The 4th of July is unarguably the hottest holiday of the year and arguably the most fun — with the possible exception of New Year’s Eve.

An endless parade of  fireworks, festivals, friends, bikinis,  live music and backyard barbecues marking the celebration of “America’s birthday” is often played out in wild and spectacular ways across the country.

If you are in proximity of any of  these locales, you may want to venture over for some good food and fun, or you can choose to watch the multi-pronged spectacle unfold on television.
