Miller Lite and Kevin Hart Search for America’s Next Comedian in Atlanta

Last night, Miller Lite’s search for the best up-and-coming black comedian convened in downtown Atlanta’s “Center Stage”.  Radio personality Ryan Cameron hosted while the celebrity judges for the show were comedians Kevin Hart (Think Like A Man), Joe Clair (BET’s Rap City), and V 103’s Wanda Smith.  Atlanta served as the first of four regional competitions in Charlotte, Chicago, and New Orleans.  The top performing comedian in Atlanta will advance to the final round in Las Vegas to compete for $10,000.

Each of the four local comedians (Landry, Aminah Imani, Shaun Jones, and Mia Jackson) performed 10- minute sets before being critiqued by the celebrity judges.

Aminah Imani started the show with a very funny, and confident performance while earning plenty of hearty laughs.  Young comedian Landry, who’s bi-racial, brought the house down with his racial, yet witty humor.  Kevin Hart could be seen nearly rolling out of his seat.

Veteran comedian Shaun Jones followed Landry’s brilliant performance with an equally funny set with “old-school” black humor that had all the older audience members dying with laughter.

Inexperienced comedian Mia Jackson concluded the show with a decent set; however, the big occasion took a toll on  her nerves  as she didn’t tell her jokes with confidence.

In the end new-comer Landry edged out Shaun Jones in a close voting battle.  Definitely keep a look out for Landry as Miller Lite’s grand finale winds up in Las Vegas at summer’s end.
