By all rights, Chris Brown and Rihanna’s relationship, whether platonic or romantic, should have ended after his 2009 assault on the singer and their subsequent breakup. But their continued interactions and collaborations with each other, have exposed layers of unresolved feelings and issues between the two that have left many wondering ‘just how strong is their connection and can they ever really be free of each other?’ Perhaps Rihanna will finally answer those questions in her highly anticipated interview with Oprah Winfrey, where it’s been revealed that she laments her heartache over leaving Brown.
In a sneak peek of her upcoming interview on “Oprah’s Next Chapter,” Rihanna speaks with Winfey about the infamous assault and explains that despite her anger over being beaten, she felt a strong sense of loss in leaving Brown.
“It was embarrassing, it was humiliating,” Rihanna states, her voice choking and her eyes brimming with tears. “I lost my best friend.”
“I was resentful, I held a grudge, I was dark,” she added.
During the interview, Winfrey also asks Rihanna if Brown is a “true love” and where there relationship stands today.
From the looks of it, it seems like this will be one insightful interview that will not only allow fans into the world of Rihanna, but also inside the mind of woman who’s been through a rocky and unstable relationship, full of layers and contours that we may have yet to fully understand.
