The Texas Women’s Empowerment Foundation, Comerica Bank, and Fox 26 held the sixth annual International Financial Leadership Summit at the luxurious Royal Sonesta. Fox 26 anchor woman Melinda Spaulding served as mistress of ceremony and welcomed Beacon Home Health Care owner Lora Mayes, who offered inspirational words to the conference attendees regarding TWEF memberships and the benefits of joining the well-known organization.
“This is the only way to get instant access to the connections, tools and resources to take your business, relationship and life to the next level,” said Texas Women’s Empowerment Foundation founder Deavra Daughtry as she welcomed State Representative Sylvester Turner; Cindy Clifford, owner and founder of The Clifford Group; Janie Barrera, president and CEO of Accion Texas Inc.; and Wea Lee, founder and CEO of Houston International Trade Center, during the million-dollar leadership roundtable breakfast.
Luncheon keynote speaker Stedman Graham encouraged women not to lose their identity in the quest to raise a family and be fulfilled professionally.
Following the luncheon, Grammy Award-winning singer Jennifer Holiday and friends serenaded guests during the celebrity music and motivation leadership soiree honoring power couples including; Robert and Nicole Jackson, Eric and Rosa Valasquez, and Cary and Judge Clarese Yates, who shared how to love your partner and cultivate a working relationship. The three-day summit ended with the 2012 international leadership awards dinner, during which CNN’S Soledad O’Brien received the Humanitarian Award.
