It almost seems unfair. As Forbes magazine wrote in a feature of the top-paid DJs in the country, Paul DelVecchio, better known as DJ Pauly D, was a used car salesman. He didn’t go to college and DJ’d on nights and weekends, making a few hundred dollars for each gig.

Today, thanks to the phenomenal success of MTV’s “Jersey Shore” reality show, the Rhode Island native has graduated from small Providence night clubs to touring with Britney Spears, lining up multi-year production deals with 50 Cent, starting his own clothing line, a tan lotion line and even introducing his own signature drink, raking in millions in the process. And this doesn’t even include his $150,000-per episode salary for “Jersey Shore,” which brought Pauly D a cool $4 million per year.
