What is the mission of the Dynamic Kids nonprofit program?

Our mission is to provide underprivileged children from low-income families within Houston school clothing, uniforms, and school supplies throughout the academic school year.

Tell us about your upcoming event and how it will benefit the dynamic kids program?

R.A.W. Beauty & Fashion Show is an all adult event. The event will be held on Saturday, Oct, 13,  from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Renaissance Hote,l located at 6 Greenway Plaza East, Houston, Texas 77046. It’s a fashion show with a statement. We [board members] decided to do a theme fashion show for the upcoming presidential election and to reflect the organization’s mission. For instance, children are like anyone else. We all tend to feel good about ourselves when we put on new clothes —it boosts our self-esteem. As far as R.A.W., it’s an acronym meaning “Real American Woman.”  Dynamic Kids will benefit by making the public aware about the need for our services and to raise funds.

What is the process to become active in the dynamic kids program?

Recipients have to apply for services and meet the criteria to qualify, and live within inner city Houston. It’s a service we provide to the community on an as needed basis for impoverished families. Families in need of our services can call 713.758.6565 or email, [email protected].  An intake specialist will conduct a brief over the phone interview before sending out an application.

Why is the dynamic kids program so important to the community?

The organization is important because parents or guardians may not be in a great financial position to provide for their children during the academic school year, and that’s where Dynamic Kids comes in to help lighten the load for those parents or guardians.

Where do you hope to see the dynamic kids brand in the next 5 years?

I hope to see the Dynamic Kids brand providing services to recipients residing in inner cities of other states; especially the southern states of Louisiana, Alabama, Mississippi, Georgia and Florida. But first, I have to take care of my native hometown of Houston. The brand has to gain recognition at home before we prepare to branch out.
