Ryan Cameron to replace Frank Ski on V-103
Ryan Cameron, the multifaceted radio deejay who also works the Atlanta Hawks basketball games, will replace Frank Ski and Wanda Smith on V-103’s “Frank and Wanda Morning Show,” sources close to the show told rolling out. Frank “Ski” Rodriguez and Wanda Smith are leaving the station after dominating the metro Atlanta market for most of their 14-year reign, drawing in 1.2 million listeners to the show and leading the ratings in every age category in the city.
Big Tigger, who catapulted to national urban fame via Black Entertainment Television (BET), will come onboard and fill the afternoon drive spot that will be left vacant by Cameron, sources shared with rolling out.
Cameron, currently working the WVEE afternoon drive, is no stranger to morning shows and success in that time slot. Before he came to V-103 in 2005, Cameron was the force behind the “Ryan Cameron Morning Show” for WHTA 107.9 for nine years.
The indefatigable Cameron is also no stranger to V-103; it is the place where he began his career (WVEE ) in 1991 before leaving and returning to Atlanta in 1996.
Cameron, 47, is an Atlanta native who attended Campbell High School in Smyrna, played football, and became senior class president. He attended the University of West Georgia majoring in broadcasting and graduated in 1988.
According to the Georgia Radio Hall of Fame, Cameron has been nominated for an NAB Marconi award and been honored by the city of Atlanta with two Phoenix Awards, and Ryan Cameron Day. Cameron and his wife, Kysha, oversee the Ryan Cameron Foundation and the Ryan Cameron Leadership Academy whose mission is to guide Atlanta’s youth in their transition to adulthood with resources and programs designed to empower, inspire, and encourage positive growth.
