Rappers have been excoriated by the urban community for rarely, if ever, using brown-toned and dark-skinned models in their videos in favor of the almost-white subset.

Barack Obama was that he was “light-skinned” [black] who had “no Negro dialect unless he wanted to have one.”
Much like the radioactive subject of race in America, the issue of light-skinned and dark-skinned blacks simmers just beneath the surface of until it explodes through the surface with volcanic ferocity, much like the case when Lil Wayne allegedly said he wanted no more dark-skinned children even though his daughter is dark.
