Georgia man who shot 2-year-old surrenders to police

Chazerel Burton, 21, snatched a gold chain off a man’s neck in the parking lot of a Kroger grocery store located at Memorial Dr. and N. Hairston Road in Stone Mountain, Ga. on Wednesday, June 26. A good Samaritan came to the aid of the mugging victim. Burton retaliated and allegedly shot the Samaritan’s 2-year-old, who was in the car with his mother, in the abdomen. He fired a minimum of 15 rounds.

Burton turned himself in to DeKalb County, Ga. authorities on Wednesday, July 3, and has been charged with three counts of aggravated assault and issued a $50,000 bond.
