Stevie J shocked by child support lawsuit

Stevie J is definitely no stranger to baby mama drama, but the drama came with an unbelievably high price earlier this month when the “Love & Hip Hop Atlanta” star was hit a $1.2 million child support bill form a former girlfriend, claiming he’s stiffed her on child support for years. In a new interview with Sister 2 Sister, Stevie explains that he was completely blindsided by his baby’s mother’s claims.

“I didn’t know. We was [sic] just chilling two weeks prior to the filing. We was [sic] hanging out!” he explained. “Nah! I mean let me know what’s going on. Let me know the play. I didn’t know the play. It’s just like, ‘OK. I thought we was [sic] cool. I just hit you with some racks and some bands!’ ”

Since being hit with the lawsuit, Stevie says that he hasn’t had much if any communication with the former girlfriend, Antoinette.

“I haven’t really sat down and talked to Antoinette about that,” Stevie said. “I just want to make sure our kids aren’t affected by what’s going on.”

Stevie explains that a default judgment was previously made regarding his child support payments and that he wasn’t even in the country when the judgment was made, leaving him no opportunity to challenge what he calls sky-high child support rates that he calls “some [LeBron James] or [Kobe Bryant] numbers.”

“They pretty much gave me a number and they’ve been adding that up over a large amount of time,” said Stevie.

Despite the lawsuit and the blow to his character, Stevie insists that he’s a good father to all of his kids and that he’s always provided for them financially.

“I take care of my kids and do what I’ve got to do for my kids. A number like that? [whistles]!” Stevie said. “At the end of the day, I’m a fair guy. I don’t believe in anybody taking advantage of anybody.”
