Thamar Harper, 29, had something to prove on the night he shot Marcus McKinnis, 23, of Markham, Ill. multiple times. Harper and McKinnis were complete strangers when they fought over a photobombing incident. McKinnis’ name will be forever etched in Harper’s mind as the man he reportedly shot six times with a semi-automatic handgun at Eagles Club parking lot in Beloit, Wis.
McKinnis and several friends were attempting to take a group picture at around 1.40am Sunday when the suspect jumped into the frame.
They scuffled. Harper then allegedly followed McKinnis and at least two other men to their cars. An officer responded to the scene. He found McKinnis slumped over the driver’s seat. According to his Facebook page, the 23-year-old has two young children.
Harper is charged with first degree attempted homicide.
