Mister Cee says Notorious B.I.G. would accept him as is

Former Hot 97 DJ Mister Cee watched his personal life explode all over the tabloid and blog headlines last year after he was arrested, for a second time, for engaging in sexual acts with a female transgender prostitute. Now, months after the dust of his controversy has settled, Mister Cee has opened up to GQ about his sexuality and why he believes hip-hop luminaries like the Notorious B.I.G. would’ve understood him and stuck by his side.

In the interview, Cee explains that he began soliciting transgender prostitutes simply for the thrill of it.

“The best way I can explain it is that I was so knee-deep into doing it that it became a part of me,” he explained. “It’s also the rush of: Get horny, A and B—you know, one plus one equals two. You get horny, go out, go get your s–t. It became a part of my routine. Even though I was fearful, there was a part of me that felt invincible, too.”

Since being caught in the act by police, Mister Cee has denied being gay, although admitting that his denial was in some way a lie. In the new GQ article he clarifies his sexuality when he’s asked, once again, if he’s gay.

“Absolutely not. And it’s nothing—it’s no offense to transgender women, but I only get with transgender women for one thing and one thing only, and that’s for oral sex. Like I said: I never had sex with a man. I never had sex with a transgender woman,” Mister Cee said.

Since the controversy, Mister Cee has received both criticism and praise from those in the hip-hop community. But when asked if the Notorious B.I.G., the rapper who put him on the map, would have accepted his sexuality, Mister Cee says, without question, that he would have.

“I know Big stands next to me. I have no question in my mind” Mister Cee said, explaining that Biggie was a true friend to him. “You know who’s phony, you know who’s hypocritical, you know who’s real.”

“So not only do I feel like Big has my back,” Cee added, “I feel like every person that I have ridden for in their afterlife—I think they got my back as well.”

It’s evident that Mister Cee still on his own personal journey to understanding and embracing his sexuality, but it’s heartwarming to think that such a monumental emcee like Biggie Smalls would’ve embraced him as is and championed him.
