How did your upbringing prepare you for a career as a boxer?

Growing up I had to fight a lot. Once I went into a boxing gym it felt like where I should be my home away from home

Which boxer do you compare yourself to the most and why?

The late, great Diego Corales because he fought with so much heart and passion.

What can fans expect from your next fight?

A lot of fireworks and there will be no need for judges [because] I will decide the outcome of my fight with my own hands.

What are your thoughts on the UFC? Do you think it will become more popular than boxing?

The UFC is over-rated. It won’t surpass boxing because it tries to copy boxing. Boxing has been around since the Roman Empire. They’re trying to out market boxing and still boxing is loved around the world.

How did your upbringing prepare you for a career as a boxer?

Growing up having to work hard for what I wanted and learning that you have to go get what you want in life made boxing perfect for me.

Which boxer do you compare yourself to the most and why?

Roy Jones Jr. because he was successful for a long time, had his own style, and was a good role model.

What are your thoughts on the UFC? Do you think it will become more popular than boxing?

I like the UFC, but it will never surpass boxing because it’s too much grappling. Grown men should never be almost naked on the ground sweating all on top of each other. If they could box they would, but they can’t so they kick and wrestle.
