Robin Thicke takes awkward approach to get back Paula Patton

It’s been a rough year for Robin Thicke.

And the series of events that have followed in the aftermath of splitting from his wife, Paula Patton, aren’t really helping his case. Thicke released a new album yesterday, Paula (surprise, surprise). With the help of the lovely people at VH1, he was supposed to answer questions from Twitter users with the hashtag, #AskThicke. Unfortunately, the Internet gives people a lot more courage than they would have in person — users on Twitter took this opportunity to mock Thicke about his stalker-like pursuit in getting his wife back. Sadly, Thicke was the butt of every joke you can think of. The general message: just leave her alone.

But this mocking isn’t unwarranted. On Sunday at the BET Awards, he performed “Forever Love” under a huge photo of the two (during happier times) and giant letters spelling, “Paula.” I can’t really call it, but I don’t think he’s trying to seek attention with these actions. I simply think desperation has overtaken and he just wants his family back. They say love makes you do crazy things … right? RIGHT?
