LeBron James and other free agents in limbo

New York Knicks v Miami Heat

It appears that sports fans are growing anxious with each passing day as they wait in anticipation for their favorite NBA franchise to land one of the big names of free agency. However, the top tier free agents, including LeBron James, seem to be taking their time on making any final decisions. In fact, it looks as if most of the top tier free agents haven’t officially ruled out any possible options.

James, who is being courted by every NBA team, hasn’t made any official visits to any team but it’s rumored that the clear-cut favorites are to stay put in Miami or to return home to Cleveland and join the young talented roster. It seems to be quite obvious that any decision King James makes will be contingent upon the team’s roster of players. Miami is reportedly on the verge of acquiring free agent Josh McRoberts and Danny Granger; however, these new additions still may not prove to be a strong enough roster to retain James.

Carmelo Anthony and Chris Bosh join the roster of available free agents. Both have interests from several teams but like James, haven’t made any official decisions yet. Bosh has an offer from the Houston Rockets that will likely be unmatched by any other team but is rumored to want to stay with the Miami Heat alongside they dynamic duo LeBron James and Dwayne Wade while Carmelo Anthony has offers from the New York Knicks, Los Angeles Lakers and the Chicago Bulls. After a rough season, Anthony is on record inferring that he “wants to win now” opening up the possibility that he may be looking to join James and Wade in South Beach, Miami.

One thing for certain is that the top three free agents are LeBron James, Carmelo Anthony, and Chris Bosh followed by a host of other available agents. While these guys are being faced with some tough decisions, balance is essential. Hopefully these guys will make a final decision to join a team that allows them to be competitive but also able to earn what their worth.
