Chris Brown’s mother staging an intervention for him?

It’s fair to say the Chris Brown has been in a lot less trouble throughout the past few months than he was before he went to prison earlier this year on assault charges. However, trouble still seems to follow him. His crew has been involved in several fights that have broken out at Brown’s gigs. Now rumor has it that Brown’s mother is desperately trying to keep her son out of jail again by getting him psychological help.

According to TMZ, Brown’s mother, Joyce Hawkins, and Karrueche Tran fear for Brown’s life and they’ve resorted to contacting Brown’s therapist to help the singer see that he’s ruining his career and endangering his life.

Previous reports have claimed that Brown has aligned himself with the Fruit Town Piru set of the Blood gang, and although he was never officially initiated, the Pirus don’t mind that Brown throws up their gang signs at public events.

And although Brown apparently thinks it’s cool to rep the Bloods, his family is worried that he’s unknowingly putting himself in danger.

Chris Brown - Blood Gang Signs

Last month, Suge Knight and three other people were shot during Brown’s performance at 1OAK. The latest violent incident involving Brown’s entourage happened last week at a YMCMB Drake and Lil Wayne after-party at Supperclub in Hollywood when several people leaving the club got into a fight, resulting in the stabbing of one individual.

According to sources, the LAPD believes that the violence all stems from Brown’s crew, which reportedly includes Blood members, and they’ve now begun privately meeting with club owners to try to get them to blacklist Brown and his crew from local clubs.

Perhaps Brown still hasn’t learned to value his freedom and his boundless opportunities outside of jail, and if he keeps affiliating himself with a gang, he, unfortunately, might lose that freedom again simply because he thought gang life was cool. Perhaps he should ask artists like Kendrick Lamar and survivors of gang violence why there’s nothing “cool” about being part of a gang. – nicholas robinson
