Clint Eastwood’s American Sniper is proving to be one of the most surprisingly dominating movies in recent history.

The gritty war drama took in $31.8 to remain in the driver’s seat this weekend. Its total was enough to dethrone the Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds Concert Tour as best grossing movie on a Super Bowl weekend. It now has a total tally of $248 million domestically. Popular children’s book turned film, Paddington came in second this week with a total of $8.5 million to narrowly hold off newcomer Project Almanac, which earned $8.4 million. The Kevin Costner and Octavia Spencer family drama Black or White opened at No. 4 this weekend with a $6.4 million share. And the Jennifer Lopez suspense thriller The Boy Next Door rounded out the top five with a $6 million purse.
