Macy’s fashion show has become one of the signature events at Black Enterprise’s annual “Women of Power Summit.”

Held during the Outdoor Garden Luncheon, this year’s event was hosted by Andrey Smaltz (CEO, The Ground Crew); and Dariany Santana (co-host, Black Enterprise Women of Power TV).

After witnessing several of the hottest fashion trends of spring 2015, we caught up with Kristyn Page who serves as director of diversity strategy at Macy’s.

“Macy’s has been a part of this for 10 years and this is our ninth year sponsoring,” Page said. “We kicked it off with our huge shopping party at Macy’s Galleria in Fort Lauderdale. We came back with one-on-one sessions, the fashion show with Audrey Smaltz as our commentator and the ladies hit the runway and looked amazing. And after the fashion show, everyone made their way to the beauty pavilion where they got makeovers, had drinks, and got to preview the clothes that were in the fashion show.”

Page also offered advice to women who are looking to find success in a male-dominated field. “We have to stay true to yourself and be authentic and understand your value and worth,” Page said. “When you’re nervous, stand tall and look as if you belong. The more you act that way, the more you will become it.”
