Music Builds Community’s unforgettable night of at Chicago’s Velvet Lounge

037

Chicago hot spot The Velvet Lounge was the place to be as emerging label TwoGuard Music Group teamed with the ongoing Music Builds Community series to provide an unforgettable night of entertainment for music lovers across the city.

Hosted by Tim Jackson and the Just N Case band, the night featured performances by the talented roster of TwoGuard Music (Kvn Tajzea, Danielle Lee, Truth, and Chicago R&B legends Public Announcement), as well as budding artists Joe Freelon and J. Noelle.

Although the series regularly features incredible music, event founder Dani Jackson says the music is merely a conduit for a greater purpose.

“I believe the only solution to many of the problems in our communities including crime, employment, disparity in education and homelessness is to work on building the community,” she says. “And what greater connector is there other than music?”

Music Builds Community is a branch of OnBuildingCommunity.org, which highlights people, organizations, and methods that build community.
