When Jay Z launched his new streaming service, Tidal, one of the biggest selling points he laid out to fans was the exclusive content the service will provide for users.

Wasting no time in fulfilling that promise, users can now check out a little known film by director Jeymes Samuel called They Die By Dawn.

Featuring an ensemble cast that includes Erykah Badu, Rosario Dawson, Giancarlo Esposito, Harry Lennix, Nate Parker, Isaiah Washington, Jesse Williams, Michael K. Williams and Bokeem Woodbine among others, the 50-minute movie focuses on the true to life narratives of black cowboys and cowgirls.

Samuel said that he wanted to make a film with all the “unsung” people and places of the era included.

“I was like, ‘OK, look. I’m gonna shoot this [film], I’m gonna write this story, and I’m gonna assemble almost every single real character that existed and I’m assemble them like the Avengers and put them in one place at one time – in one of the first Black settlements post-slavery, 1890 in Langston, Oklahoma,’” Samuels told Jay Z’s lifestyle blog Life + Times. “We got Black Wall Street. All of these places that are criminally unsung. So I set this story in 1890 and I threw everyone in it: Ben Hodges, Rufus Buck, Nat Love, Bill Picket, Stagecoach Larry, Jordan Anderson, etc.”

They Die By Dawn is available exclusively on Tidal.
