Tonight, Taraji P. Henson makes her big hosting debut on Comedy Central’s “Saturday Night Live.” As previously reported, Henson will host the sketch comedy show for the first time alongside musical guests Mumford & Sons, who will be making their second appearance on the show.


The “Empire” fan favorite is the first Black woman to host the show since Kerry Washington took on the challenge last season, where she participated in a spoof criticizing the lack of diversity in the cast. Prior to Washington’s gig, Maya Rudolph hosted in 2012.


Although you may feel like you may know a lot about Henson by way of her body of work, including “Persons of Interest,” Hustle & Flow and No Good Deed, the self-proclaimed animal lover is multifaceted.
