Let the Minions madness begin.

It was a great run for Jurassic World while it lasted but the laws of physics state that what goes up must eventually come down. After the film’s impressive month-long stay atop the weekend box office, the Chris Pratt led latest installment in the Jurassic franchise has been cut down to size by a group of adorable little yellow organisms.

Absolutely obliterating the rest of the competition, including three other debuts that made the top ten, the Sandra Bullock and Jon Hamm voiced animated Minions dominated with a take of $115 million. Jurassic World took second place but was almost $100 million off the number one spot with $18.1 million earned. Inside Out was just off the total tallied by Jurassic with another $17.1 million brought in. Terminator: Genisys came in fourth this week totaling $13.7 million. And rounding out the top five is the New Line Cinema horror The Gallows, which opened at a modest $10 million.
