Texas Women’s Empowerment Foundation honors Dr. Myles Munroe

Texas Women’s Empowerment Foundation and its founder, Dr. Deavra Daughtry, hosted the Global Tribute honoring the late Dr. Myles Munroe and his legacy. The event was held on Thursday evening at the J.W. Marriott. Dr. Munroe’s adult children, Myles Munroe, Jr. and Charisa Munroe, were in attendance. They spoke on how in one day their lives changed forever when they suddenly lost their parents on the same day.


Munroe, the leader of Bahamas Faith Ministries, and his wife, Ruth, were killed on November 9, 2014 when the plane crashed in the Bahamas. The Lear 36 Executive Jet hit a crane and crashed, while attempting to land at Grand Bahama International Airport. The tragedy happend as people gathered in Grand Bahama for the Global Leadership Forum, which was organized by Munroe. There were nine fatalities.


The founder of Bahamas Faith Ministries International (BFMI), internationally known Munroe was also president of Myles Munroe International (MMI).

Iyanla Vanzant gave a few words on Dr. Munroe by video. Marina Coryat, of Blue Cross Blue Shield, also offered remarks. The host for the evening was John Gray. The inspirational performance tribute featured Brian Courtney Wilson, William McDowell and Tasha Cobbs.
