Success can be contained in a single film frame, as evidenced by a short feature film that provides an overview of one woman’s journey of trial and tribulation to triumph. Sabrina Peterson, founder of Glam University, teams with rolling out to present a phenomenal movie, independently and with no apologies. Peterson’s motive is two-fold: to celebrate the greatness and accomplishments of women.

The exclusive private screening of I AM GIRL POWER was held at the Plaza Theater in Atlanta’s thriving midtown on Monday night, December 14, 2015, which featured Peterson while highlighting 12 other female entrepreneurs and their stories.

I Am Girl Power is a brand charged with cheering women. I Am Girl Power, whether you’re an entrepreneur or a corporate professional who dreams of freedom from your constricted reality, is a film that will catapult your journey. By sharing their stories, the women offer tools and emphasize faith to achieve your dreams in real time.

“Flip it!” is Peterson’s call to action. “Flip” not only your mentality but flip your perception of success. It can’t be based on what someone told you you could or couldn’t do, but you must have the faith and courage and knowing that God gives you what you need to be whomever you choose to be.

Having heard Peterson speak on several occasions, her entire presence illuminates and is angelic. Like her golden hair, glowing possibilities and opportunities in life are waiting for you.

The documentary explores the lives of women who have overcome adversity and come out on top with a level of confidence. They inspire all who are able to see this phenomenal segment. They’re authors, entrepreneurs, boutique owners, salon owners and more who take time to showcase their life skills to encourage young women seeking to find their place. For Peterson, it is just the beginning of what is going to be a spectacular Glam University Girl Power Sleepover, a 2-day overnight business boot camp held at the swanky W Hotel on January 9. 2016. The event will focus on educating and empowering women in a more relatable way featuring keynote speakers: Sabrina Peterson and Sophia Amoruso of Nasty Gal and New York Times best seller #GirlBoss.

The screening opened with a powerful spoken word piece from Atlanta sex trafficking survivor Iasia Sweeting, and following the film guests participated in a panel, discussing topics such as – why women are trained to hate other women. The room was filled with females all ages connecting with one another and their individual stories and obstacles each went through. The message of the film and purpose of the event was very empowering and continued to promote female unity, the mission of Glam University. “

Notable guests in attendance included: Tameka ‘Tiny’ Harris, Precious Harris as well as the film interviewees – Maja Sly of WeTV’s Cutting it ATL and Pretty Hair, Kandace Marie of My Fair Sweets, Miasha Coleman Best Selling Author, Honey of Pink Zebra Boutique, Mary Skittles of Cupcake Mafia, Shaunell Kannard of Conceited Inc., Ebonie Ward of Fly Chix, Chanita Foster of Beyond the Game, Daybella of Ladies Who Brunch and the films lead actress Diamond Owens.
