Ciara and Future’s long-standing feud came to an explosive head this week when news reports revealed that Ciara has decided to file a lawsuit against Future, demanding $15 million in damages for defamation and slander after the many shady comments he’s made about her in the past year. With news of the case spreading across the Web, Future’s team recently decided to respond to Ciara’s lawsuit.

As previously reported, Ciara filed the lawsuit in Georgia late last month in response to malicious comments that her ex-fiancé has made about her and her boyfriend, NFL star Russell Wilson, online and in the press. Some of the comments include him blasting Ciara for allowing Wilson to hang around their son, baby Future, and alleging that she’s using Wilson and her son to get publicity.

Future also mocked Ciara’s decision to remain celibate until marriage with Wilson, joking that she certainly wasn’t celibate when they were together.

Ciara also took issue with Future tweeting that Ciara was keeping him away from their son and that, despite shelling out $15,000 a month in child support, he has to go through her lawyers to even visit their son.

Not only does Ciara want $15 million in damages, as well as $250K in attorney’s fees, but she’s also demanding that a judge order Future to stop speaking about their son in public.

However, according to media reports, Future’s camp responded to Ciara’s lawsuit and claim that Future thinks the lawsuit is ridiculous at best.

Sources say that Future thinks Ciara is being hypocritical because she’s spoken negatively about him publicly as well. The rapper says that a prime example is her platinum-selling 2015 single, “I Bet,” which many believe was about her broken engagement with Future over cheating rumors.

“You know that it hurts your pride but you thought the grass was greener on the other side. I bet you start loving me as soon as I start loving someone else. Somebody better than you,” Ciara sings in the song.

The sources say that Future considered suing Ciara over the song, but decided against it because he felt it would be petty. Future hasn’t made a decision yet on whether he will fire back at Ciara with a lawsuit of his own because a process server failed to deliver the document to him at LAX. However, reportedly he is considering taking legal action against her.

Well, this has gone from a messy breakup to what’s likely going to be a nasty court battle.
