Kanye West and Taylor Swift appear to be locked in yet another disagreement.

This time the two pop stars are telling very different stories surrounding the circumstances of a phone call that supposedly happened regarding a song called “Famous” from Kanye’s upcoming album, The Life Of Pablo.

In the song, premiered at Kanye’s sold out recent Yeezy Season 3 event, the Chicago rapper spits the now infamous line:

I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex, why?
I made that b–ch famous!

As the reigning princess of country and pop, one should be able to imagine the scores of loyal Swift fans that took offense to the line and immediately made a beeline for their social media accounts to make their voice heard. Needless to say, the backlash has been epic.

West took to Twitter yesterday morning to try to quell the situation but may have inadvertently started a bit of a cold war between he and Swift. According to him, the lyric was something of a joke that Swift was in on and even “gave her blessings” for him to use.

“I did not diss Taylor Swift and I’ve never dissed her…” West said to begin his rant. “First thing is I’m an artist and as an artist I will express how I feel with no censorship…. 2nd thing I asked my wife for her blessings and she was cool with it…. 3rd thing I called Taylor and had a hour long convo with her about the line and she thought it was funny and gave her blessings.”

He then went on to compare the “b” word and the “n” word and explained that it’s “an endearing term in hip hop” before dropping the bombshell that the questionable lyric was actually Swift’s idea to begin with.

“5th thing I’m not even gone take credit for the idea…” he contends. “It’s actually something Taylor came up with…. She was having dinner with one of our friends who’s (sic) name I will keep out of this and she told him I can’t be mad at Kanye because he made me famous!  #FACTS”

According to Swift’s camp, however, the phone call between the two was about something entirely different.

“Kanye did not call for approval, but to ask Taylor to release his single Famous on her Twitter account,” a rep for Swift told USA Today. “She declined and cautioned him about releasing a song with such a strong misogynistic message. Taylor was never made aware of the actual lyric, ‘I made that (expletive) famous.'”

This looks to be classic case of he say/she say but who do you believe?
