New reports surface, surrounding pop star Rihanna’s Grammy no-show. Although the bad gal’s team credited her bail to a brutal bout with bronchitis, sources claim that may not have been the reason for the last-minute cancellation.

The “Rude Boy” singer went on a “hysterical” outburst after a lackluster pre-show rehearsal, sources told TMZ. And while it’s unclear exactly what triggered the apparent incident, sources claim RiRi was very upset and had a total meltdown.

As previously reported, fans were amped to hear that the 27-year-old singer was scheduled to perform her new hit “Kiss Me Better” off of her latest Anti album during the 58th Annual Grammy Awards Show, but she dropped the ball just hours before the show, claiming she had a bad case of bronchitis. “The antibiotics she has been on for three days did not kill the infection adequately therefore she cannot perform safely,” a rep told Daily News.

Oddly enough, sources claim Rihanna’s voice sounded fine at her pre-show rehearsal. The “We Found Love” artist also sounded flawless when she performed at Lionel Richie’s charity event just two days prior to the Los Angeles based award show. Although Rihanna issued an apology for missing the show on Monday evening via Twitter, fans and critics alike aren’t buying it. She wrote, “So sorry I couldn’t be there. Thanks Grammys and CBS for your support tonight.”

She was also a no-show on the red carpet at the Grammys on Monday evening, and TMZ reports the PUMA spokeswoman went home following rehearsal, as she was too upset to even stay and support her colleagues. This is the second time Rih has canceled a performance at the Grammys. In 2009, she pulled out after singer Chris Brown, (her boo at the time), was charged with assaulting her. He pleaded guilty to felony assault later that year.
