White’s death sparked reactions throughout the hip-hop community as artists such as 2 Chainz, Pusha T, Killer Mike, DJ Drama, T.I. and others paid tribute to White and his family through social media.

Jackson Memorial Baptist Church, several family members and friends spoke about White and the legacy he will leave with his music. Sister Good Game, who appears on Jeezy’s album Church in These Streets, spoke about White’s contributions to music and also gave the young attendees advice about making the right decision.

“Black men, you need to put them guns down,” Sister Good Game said. “They’re handing out more time than you all can imagine. They got the prison designed for you all to fail. I’m going to tell you young men, you ain’t ready to do 25 years to life. It’s not your decision who lives or die. Don’t let [Bankroll] die in vain. He was blessed with two good fathers and a perfect mother. He was raised right. Come on Black men, put the guns down! When you get down in the joint, you only got two suits and a lock up. The same one who told you to pull the trigger, he’s gonna leave you. But a change gonna come.”

White, 28, was a member of 2 Chainz’s TRU Records and had began to make a name for himself with the song, “Hot Boy.” The remix featured original members of the Hot Boyz, Lil Wayne, Juvenile, and Turk. The song was followed by the mixtape Life of Hot Boy. White recently appeared in the independent film, Take Over Your Trap.
