Last week, rolling out reported Susan Smithson, manager/buyer of Miz Scarletts in Atlanta’s Buckhead community, made some inflammatory comments toward a customer about a prom dress.

‘Filthy n—er’: Atlanta sales clerk drags Black mom about prom dress

According to Miz Scarletts’ spokesperson, the comments were made on a fake social media account and Smithson isn’t tech savvy and unable to create an account on her own.

The alleged Facebook feud started when the dissatisfied mom commented online about her shopping experience at Miz Scarletts and tagged the NAACP Atlanta Branch’s social media account.

Smithson isn’t taking this lying down. She has filed a police report with the Atlanta Police Department claiming identity theft. This incident is highly stressful and has negatively impacted the business.

The complaint has been filed against Jesse Jacques and Michael Selph. One is an ex-employee and his best friend. One was a tenant in her home whom she recently evicted. Smithson claims her life has been threatened. Selph aimed and cocked a shotgun at Smithson, as stated in the police report.

On May 3, 2016, Michael Selph, an employee of Miz Scarletts caused a scene at the store. He was dismissed and Susan Smithson manager of Miz Scarletts followed him to [redacted] the house that he had been staying in.
When I got there, his car was in the driveway. He had torn down the metal gates.
The door to the home was ajar. I, Susan, entered the home and I asked him why he tore the gates down.
At that point, he started screaming and yelling at me and cocked a shotgun and the shells fell into the chamber.

Attempts by Smithson were made to reconcile this issue with Coretta Leggz White, but to no avail.

It’s sad that a very personal matter has taken this turn.
