Columbus Short’s life has been anything but stable this year as she’s endured a bitter breakup from his famous girlfriend, Karrine Steffans, and been in and out of trouble with the law over both assault and drug charges. Now, it looks like Columbus’ actions are finally catching up with him because it’s been revealed that a judge has decided to send the actor to jail.

As previously reported, back in 2014, Short was sentenced to three years of supervised probation, and two months of community labor and anger management counseling for attacking Fenton Hyche III and breaking the man’s nose, fracturing his eye socket and rendering him unconscious.

That same year, Short was also arrested after he allegedly assaulted his estranged wife, Tanee Short, in front of his 2-year-old and 10-year-old children.

Short’s legal issues seemed to slow down afterward until this April when the actor, who has publicly admitted his struggles with drug use, failed a drug test after testing positive for cocaine and marijuana.

Now, according to new media reports, Short appeared in an L.A. court this week and was found guilty of violating his probation over the failed drug test and he’s now been sentenced to serve one month in jail for the violation. However, Short won’t have to serve the full month because he got six days credit for time he already spent in jail.

Although Short’s attorney, Ludlow B. Creary, claims that his client will be out of jail in no time, Short’s sentence doesn’t end with just a one-month jail stint. The sources also say that the judge in the case ordered Short to spend six months in a live-in drug treatment program to help him deal with his addiction issues.

Well, hopefully Short can finally get clean after his stint in rehab and we hope he stays out of trouble for good.
