At the height of his music career, Bobby Brown was known as the bad boy of R&B music and he was infamous for being the most outspoken member of New Edition. But before his days of celebrity infamy began, Brown was apparently leading quite the wild life as a child because he recently revealed in his new memoir, Every Little Step, that he once robbed a racist store clerk at gunpoint.

In the memoir, Brown explains that the incident happened when he was just an 11-year-old boy living in Alabama. Brown explains that the store clerk referred to him as a the N-word. Understandably, Brown was upset about the clerk using a racist slur against him. But unlike most kids, he took matters into his own hands and went back to the store with a pistol to get revenge on the clerk.

“I went back to my grandmother’s house and found my father’s army uniform — and his gun. … When I went back in the store, I pointed the gun at the clerk and said, ‘I’ll blow your motherf—in’ head off!’ The dude looked pretty scared. I went through the store, grabbing things that I wanted. Then I left, with the rifle resting on my shoulder.”

Brown might have been riding high after he left the store, but he was quickly brought back down to Earth after his father learned what happened. Brown explains that his father brought him back to the store to make amends with the clerk. However, Brown writes that his father then had some choice words of his own with the clerk.

“My father took me back to that store and made me give all the stuff back to the clerk. Then he turned his attention to the clerk, addressing the man by his name. ‘If you ever talk to my son like that again, I’ll kill you,’ ” Brown writes.

Well, clearly Brown has a lot of wild and interesting stories to reveal in his new book. What do you think of his revelation? Let us know in the comments.
