It’s a family affair: Beauty empresses Marquis and Marquel Bohannon talk tech

Bovanti Corporation is celebrating its 34th anniversary with exuberance, glamour and excitement. A multi-divisional product and service corporation they are touted as the fashion and beauty leader of the South. Headquartered in Atlanta, Bovanti’s goal is to provide state-of-the-art products, services and professional standards. Their mission is to provide customers with the “Ultimate Beauty and Fashion Experience.” Bovanti is known as the luxury multicultural cosmetics line that provides products for the professional makeup artist and consumer alike; including an extensive range of color cosmetics, skin care, foundations, accessories and spa services.


This past summer, Bovanti Productions joined forces with Bronner Bros. Inc. and Upscale magazine to produce the “world’s largest” fashion show, which was the main event on Saturday night, Aug. 20 during the semi-annual Bronner Bros. International Beauty Show at the Georgia World Congress Center. It’s theme: “Fashion Edge & Celebrity Style.”


Meet Marquis and Marquel Bohannon, retail president and creative director, respectively, for Bovanti Corporation. They collectively speak about their new location and tech innovations.

What’s new with Bovanti in terms of products?
This season we have FALLen in love with metallics. Dark earth-like colors are in, so we created a whole line of Liquid Lipsticks in Metallic Matte. Yes, the same great 15-hour wear liquid lipsticks that you can eat, drink and kiss with are back. But this time with flakes of shimmer that are perfect for any occasion.


Why is it important to open a store in Atlanta?
Atlanta is our home. It’s where Bovanti was founded and where we thrived for over 25 years. We decided to bring a Bovanti back home! All of our customers over the years were demanding our presence. It means that we can take our parents legacy of building a beauty empire and make it larger than life!

How do you stay connected with consumers?
We stay connected to our customers in many ways. Of course, we stay connected through social media, which you can follow us @bovanti. We also do email and text marketing with our rewards program. But, most importantly we are proud to announce that we have a new Bovanti App, which you can download on Apple Store and Google Play. You can have Bovanti at your fingertips to learn about new products, events, makeup classes and more!

What is the purpose of the event activation?
The purpose of our grand opening at Cumberland Mall in Atlanta is to make it known that we are back and we’re here to stay. We want to show that two young, Black entrepreneurs with a dream can open a successful business in an upscale Atlanta-area mall.

What can customers expect?
Attendees can expect to see our new fall collection, relax in our gorgeous spa, get their brows and lashes enhanced, and get their faces beat by our Bovanti Beauty Stars.
