A Chicago man identified as Caleb Russell, 27 apparently does not handle rejection or his chicken very well. Last week, he decided he was going to flirt with a 48-year-old female passenger on a CTA bus. The woman was not interested but instead of moving on,Russell began beating her with a bag of frozen chicken. The woman was pummeled with the rock-hard chicken and her screams caused the bus driver to stop the vehicle. It was then that Russell went after the bus driver wildly swinging his bag of frozen chicken repeatedly at the driver’s head and face.

The driver was beaten so badly with the chicken that he suffered a broken nose, broken jaw, broken tooth and will need reconstructive surgery on his gum line. Police were able to arrest Russell and charged him with battery and aggravated battery to a transit employee. A Cook County judge set his bail at $100K this past Friday. According to court records, this is not the first time that Russell has had trouble on a bus. He was arrested in 2014 and sentenced to two years in prison for making a false bomb threat on a CTA bus. In that incident, he yelled a racially charged chant before threatening to blow up the bus as “jihad against the White devil.”
