Christmas has come early for Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump and his campaign. A major court case that had the potential to derail Trump with accusations of raping a 13-year-old girl decades ago has been dropped. According to media, the lawyers for the woman identified as “Jane Doe,” filed a one-page dismissal notice on Friday in Manhattan Federal Court.

This past Wednesday, the California woman was set to give a press conference but it was abruptly canceled. Her attorney, Lisa Bloom, stated at the time, “Jane Doe has received numerous threats today, as have all the Trump accusers that I have represented. She is living in fear. She has decided that she is too afraid to show her face. She has been here all day, ready to do it, but unfortunately, she’s in terrible fear. So we’re going to have to reschedule. I apologize to all of you who came.”

The alleged victim told a tale of cocaine, sex parties and underage girls that took place with Trump and alleged billionaire pedophile Jeffrey Epstein in 1994. During one party, she claimed she was raped by Trump and “Immediately following this rape, Defendant Trump threatened me that, were I ever to reveal any of the details of Defendant Trump’s sexual and physical abuse of me, my family and I would be physically harmed if not killed,”

An earlier lawsuit by the woman was dismissed in May 2016 because of legal technicalities. At the time, she was not being represented by an attorney and made errors in the filing. The lawsuit picked up media coverage when a tape of Trump making misogynistic remarks about sexually assaulting women was released. He stated because of his celebrity status, he could “Grab then by the p—y.” Trump downplayed the remarks but it played into a negative perception of the candidate. Additional women stepped forward and stated that they received unwanted sexual advances from Trump and endured sexist remarks.

Attorneys for the woman have not issued any additional statements to explain the dismissal.
