Donald Trump will be sworn in as the president of the United States of America in less than two weeks. However, he still has found time to use social media to attack anyone he considers a foe.

During the Golden Globes, actress Meryl Streep decided to call out Trump for his divisiveness and bullying. “It was the moment when the person asking to sit in the most respected seat in our country imitated a disabled reporter. Someone he outranked in privilege, power and the capacity to fight back,” Streep said. “When the powerful use their position to bully others we all lose.”

Streep was referring to Trump’s alleged mocking of reporter Serge Kovaleski who has a physical condition that affects his joints.

But Trump decided to fight back through Twitter. “Meryl Streep, one of the most overrated actresses in Hollywood, doesn’t know me but attacked [me] last night at the Golden Globes. She is a Hillary flunky who lost big. For the 100th time, I never ‘mocked’ a disabled reporter (would never do that) but simply showed him ‘groveling’ when he totally changed a 16-year-old story that he had written in order to make me look bad. Just more very dishonest media!”

Contrary to Trump’s statement, Streep has established an illustrious career in film. She has 30 Golden Globe nominations and is one of only six actors to win three or more Academy Awards.

It has become apparent that Trump can’t stop himself from responding to every subtle form of criticism that is aimed in his direction. For the sake of the country, the citizens of America can only hope that he will choose to focus on issues that affect the nation instead of fighting personal battles on social media.
