Mother Josephine Wade, a pillar in Chicago on 79th Street, had a street renamed in her honor on her birthday. Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel and other city luminaries were on hand for the tribute.

Wade is the owner of Josephine’s Cooking, formerly known as Capt.’s Hard Time. Wade’s delectable food has been enjoyed over the years by locals, politicians and even the Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin.
