Another police officer received a slap on the wrist after committing a heinous crime. The police officer responsible for the crime, Vladimir Krull, was a member of the NYPD for 12 years before he was arrested and convicted of raping at 13-year-old girl.

Krull, 39, began abusing the girl one year after he started to date her mother, according to News 12 in the Bronx, New York. When the girl turned 13, Krull kissed her on the mouth and raped her for the first time weeks later. He would often have sexual conversations with the girl and force her to have sex in his car. But Krull’s despicable actions reach a low when he attended a father/daughter brunch with the girl. Following the event, which honored men for loving and protecting their daughters, Krull forced the young girl to give him oral sex in the car.

Krull continued to rape the victim until she had enough courage to tell her mother. In February 2015, the child’s mother visited Krull’s police precinct and told other officers that he raped her daughter. Krull was eventually arrested and terminated from his job.

The prosecutor suggested the Krull be sentenced to 15 years in prison. However, Krull will only have to serve a maximum of 36 months in jail for committing the crimes.

The unjust verdict is another example of how police officers are often allowed to beat, rape, and kill innocent citizens without repercussion. It’s another case which reveals how police officers are given too much power and are basically allowed to destroy lives. Krull’s victim will likely endure psychological damage that will follow her for life. As a result, Krull should have been given a sentence that would have forced him to remain behind bars for over a decade.

Will someone please explain to me how the people we pay to uphold and enforce the law, seem to be the ones that are above it. LEOs often get reduced sentences for crimes that would land the average person in prison for decades. Shouldn’t they be held to the same standard if not higher?

Maybe, hopefully, the other inmates or guards will punish him, won’t come out unscathed
