Seventy-eight years. After a drought that lasted almost eight decades, Northwestern University played its first NCAA men’s basketball tournament game against Vanderbilt on March 16. After defeating the Commodores, the Wildcats can very well rise as the tournament’s Cinderella within the next couple of days, because the well-known university with a plethora of well-known alumni has finally put together a decent team to support. No matter how much farther Northwestern advances in the tournament, the proud fans in the same city that suffered over a century of no championships from the Cubs should continue to publicly show support for the squad — even the public figures. Here are the top five Black famous alumni that may feel a little more Wildcat school pride this March.

Rashad Milligan

Rashad Milligan was the sports editor for Georgia State's student newspaper, The Signal, a position he held from July 2015 to May 2017. He placed first in the 2017 Southeast Journalism Conference Onsite Competition for Sports Reporting. He has also been featured on NBA.com and A3C.com
