Jeezy, Lil Durk highlight trap music scene with ‘Trap or Die 3’ tour

Trap music currently stands as the most embraced subgenre of rap. The trap msuic sound has been perfected by aritsts such as Future, Migos, and Young Thug. And even mainstream artists such as Drake have used elements of trap music in recent times. But when it comes to trap music, Jeezy is an artist who helped to introduce the sound and take it to new levels.

With his legacy solidified, Jeezy presents himself as an artist can still give engaging stories from the streets while also gaining respect from new age trap music artists. Jeezy’s Trap or Die 3 tour made its way to Atlanta’s Tabernacle  on March 21. Before the event, fans got an opportunity to get new swag provided by Dutch Masters in the venue’s lounge.

Chicago native Lil Durk opened for Jeezy. Once known as an artist who repesented Chicago’s drill music scene, Lil Durk recently moved to Atlanta and his sound is now more reflective of the trap scene. Durk performed songs from Remember My Name and Lil Durk 2X. Crowd favorites proved to be “My Beyoncé” and “She Just Wanna.”

Jeezy hit the stage shortly before 11 p.m. and provided a case study on the evolution of trap music. Wearing a white jersey and white bandana, he took fans on journey while singing new hits such as “All There,” and “Let’em Know.” But he also took it back to the essence by performing tracks such as “Standing Ovation,” “Trap or Die,” and “Bottom of the Map.” 2 Chainz hit the stage and joined Jeezy for “Super Freak” while also performing “Good Drank” and “Watch Out.”


Jeezy, 2 Chainz, and Lil Durk showcased how the Trap or Die 3 tour represent seperate generations of trap music’s past, present and future.
