ATL’s underground rap scene exposed!
11.13.08

To start, let me say that your boy Billy Blog is a firm believer that hip-hop isn’t dead, period. Now, I can’t say enough about the always bubbling underground rap scene in Atlanta. For everyone outside of the city who thinks that ATL is all about snappin’ and trappin’, two relatively unknown producers have created a compilation of some of the most promising up-and-comers. Known as the 808 Experiment Volume I, this mixtape features production from local beatsmiths 808 Blake and 7King and rappers like Yelawolf, Gripplyaz, Young Trimm, A. Leon Craft and Supreeme. The buzz around this record which is set to drop online for the free (yeah, I meant it like I said it) on, around, or before November 22nd, is crazy. If you’ve ever wanted to hear what the other side of Atlanta hip-hop sounds like, you’d be a fool not to grab this disc when it drops. In the meantime, check out the MySpace page and listen for yourself. Props to Diwang Valdez the Photoslug on the album art.

The 808 Experiment is a part of SMKA Productions (I can’t tell you what it stands for or I’d have to kill you) which includes 808 Blake, 7King, and business and marketing manager Mike Walberg. Get used to hearing the name!
